Between 2024 and 2025, Shanxi Province is accelerating the development of modern protected agriculture, listing “new protected horticulture facilities” as one of 13 priority initiatives. These include smart greenhouses and integrated systems featuring insect/bird netting covers and environmental control equipment. The initiative highlights the use of advanced, weather-resistant, and lightweight horticultural materials—such as high-strength support nets and reusable fencing—to improve productivity and climate resilience, driving demand for durable horticultural supplies.

In March 2023, the China International Home & Garden Horticulture Expo successfully resumed its offline format in Changzhou, attracting over 30 horticultural brands from across China, including Yunnan province. Exhibitors showcased innovative products such as plant support nets, eco-friendly fencing, and integrated bird/insect barrier systems, reflecting growing industry focus on functional and sustainable horticultural materials. The expo has become a key platform for suppliers to reach both B2B (nurseries, farms, florists) and B2C (home gardeners) markets.
